BIOGRAPHY
My name is KYZ-R. My musical journey began at the age of 2 years old where i used to watch my dad play his guitar,then in 1994 at the age of 4 i learnt how to play the drums and thats where it all began.I was brought up on rock,ska and early indie music during my childhood.
At age of 12 i started listening to alot of underground music mostly hardcore and drum and bass and decided this was the music for me.I started djing in late 2005 mixing hardcore and house. In 2006 i got my first pair of decks and practiced mixing hardcore everyday.
As i started getting better i decided to move on to mixing drum and bass after years of listen to it.In 2008 my mixing style started to get better to and my style has been described as 'unique' and 'talented' by others.
In december 2009 i got together with the technaudio lads from leicester to help organise a event called 'run dnb'.In february 2010 i started to play out on a monthly basis as resident of run dnb.
In late 2010 my bookings starting going up alot and i was playing out quite a bit and getting my name known,it was then when i first thought of bass militantz. A group of mates (Dj relentless,mc a.t and gully) playing as one at events.
In may 2011 we started to prepare to run our own events and in july we put on our first event. It was a big sucess with just over 200 people attending.
We still hold bass militantz events at canvas and have been going really well...watch this space for bigger artists coming to leicester. |
