BIOGRAPHY
DSP started MC'ing to garage in 2000 alongside his mate DJ Komplex. This rapidly evolved into drum n bass as the mixing and vocal work became more versatile. In 2001 DSP started to do local internet and pirate radio shows on www.manicfm.com, www.ukflow.tv, heights.fm and uk.obsession, leading to his first live booking at a gig called Contagious, run by fellow radio DJ Bluenote (Koolfm). After this break bookings at live gigs in and around the local area started coming in thick and fast, helping DSP to develop his skills on the mic. As the years have progressed so has DSP's lyrical style, transforming him into an in-demand MC both locally and now nationwide, with performances at events such as Unity, Contagious, Master Of The Mics, Music 4U Awards and New Nation.
DSP has played from London all the way to Newcastle and beyond. In 2006/7 he won two MC competitions and featured in two magazines, profiling his move through the music industry. DSP then decided to make the music work for him, and began studying Music Tech in Harlech, Wales, where he linked up with the talented DJ PERKZ to form the Untouchable Group. DSP passed his course with distinctions, and has now progressed to Kingston University where he is also currently studying Music Tech.
Now DSP aims to expand his musical aspirations further and in to different fields. In 2009/10 he took up a residency MC'ing for Rebirth, run by Dj Aybee, in Kettering and Mixology in Northampton. As a result of this DSP was signed to the Evolution Artists Agency, allowing him to spend more time focussing on MC'ing and not just networking. He represented them at several gigs around the country.
2011 was a big year for DSP, starting with an array of bookings in the early months. He won 'Best MC' for the Northampton ShockerBeats MC FUNSTAS Bar:Rage Tour and was asked to join the Fresh nu sounds of NuEra run by Speech and S.O.
DSP is heavily involved in The KU:Music Society and the KU:City DJ Society, and he plans and promotes events run by and for the student body. This has led to yet more bookings all across the country. DSP has recently signed with www.mmadj.com Artist Agency, and has been asked to join the formidable group EXTENTRECORDINGS, BrownBearStudios and Nu:Era, so there are big things in store for this up and coming musical talent. DSP is working on two albums as well as guest vox on tracks for other producers in different genres of the music scene !!
