BIOGRAPHY
Genesis Elijah is one of the most respected names in the UK Hip-Hop scene and has been since his emergence in 2005 when he released the critically acclaimed album 'Deh Pon Road', featuring Hip-Hop heavyweights Klashnekoff & Skinnyman, among others.
The album was given rave reviews, with the single 'Jah Bless' finding a spot on the BBC's 1xtra playlist.
In 2006 Genesis Elijah released his mixtape 'The Industrial Revolution'. This featured chart-topper Sway and former Dip Set member Tom Gist. It went on to sell over 20,000 copies as well as getting international airplay.
In 2007 Genesis Elijah hooked up with Electro legends Atomic Hooligan, featuring on their album 'Sex, Drugs & Blah Blah Blah'. He then toured with Atomic Hooligan across Europe as well as the festival circuit, including Glastonbury and Glade. Atomic Hooligan went on to win the award for 'Best Live Act' at the 2008 Breakspoll Awards.
Genesis Elijah got together with producer Beezwax to release the much anticipated 'Civil Unrest' EP in 2010.
Later in 2010 Genesis Elijah released a collaboration album with production duo The Krate Krusaders. The album had widespread coverage on the net and garnered Genesis Elijah a whole new fan base.
In 2011 Genesis Elijah released a free EP called 'I Ain't Even Charging Bruv', which was critically acclaimed and further solidified Genesis Elijah's reputation for making timeless and heartfelt music.
This year Genesis Elijah released another free EP titled 'Painkillers And Pilkington' which received support from Ricky Gervais, Zane Lowe, Charlie Sloth and Flava TV, helping Genesis Elijah gain a whole new audience.
Over the years Genesis Elijah has performed all over the world (Taiwan, Germany, Switzerland, Amsterdam, Ireland), with artists such as Jessie J, Dub Pistols, KRS One, Talib Qweli, Souls Of Mischief, Akil (Jurassic 5) and Bone Thugs N Harmony. He has collaborated with the best in the business.
Genesis Elijah is currently working on numerous projects, including his next album 'I Ain't Even Started Bruv', which will feature Swiss (So Solid), Dream Mclean, Loudmouth and Context among others. Genesis Elijah continues to make a name for himself as one of the most hardworking and consistent artists in the game. |
