BIOGRAPHY
H?ST!LE ...
MC, producer, vocalist, promotions, networking etc.
Hostile is one of the drum and bass scene's up-and-coming lyrical hosts. He has a unique lyrical style that portrays not only his size and stature, but also his knowledge of the music. As a person Hostile offers quick-witted intellect and sharp humour, which he successfully carries onto stage, enhancing every DJ he has ever supported.
Back in 2005 Hostile began MC'ing over weekly radio broadcasts on DnBNoize radio, which eventually landed him his first ever gig at Kombination Funk, one of Nottingham's longest-running darkside club nights.
But Hostile was not new to the game when he began hosting in 2005. He had already accumulated a decade of musical experience, with a keen ear for music production in DnB, hip hop and experimental dance music. He had also DJ'ed at many events since 1999, and represented many independent record labels under his infamous Dyazide alias. These years of experience have enabled Hostile to build a great respect and discipline for the music he loves, opting for 'clarity and content' over 'speed, status and quantity'.
After many years of hard work Hostile has finally found success with collaborations on a number of tracks, with artists including DJE, Smyla, The Sect, Lethal, Eiton, Treo, Phil Source, Dean Rodell, KLR plus many more. He holds various residencies at main underground drum and bass events such as Intent2Supply, Therapy Sessions, Mutated Noize and Vampire Records, and is currently hand-picking producers/collaborating on the highly anticipated 'Tech Force' EP project from MUTE:8 recordings. All this, combined with an unlimited work ethic, sharp lyrical content and a delivery that rivals most established MC's on the scene, has landed him a place on the Anger Management Artist agency roster, a place only suitable for the elite and talented.
Watch out for Hostile in 2012... |
