BIOGRAPHY
Big Dutty Deeze, aka Deeze, is a rapper & recording artist from Wolverhampton City, UK. After getting into music at an early age he learned & studied his craft before exploding on the scene in 2010. His unique style of deep, thought-provoking Hip-Hop is brought to the listener with truth. Opening up his life and transforming it into street poetry is one of his many skills and one of the many elements that make this emcee so likeable.
After his debut mixtape ‘The Pre-Turn’, with UK Hip-Hop mixtape giants UK Runnings and DJ Tricksta, things exploded, gaining over 3000 fans on Facebook in just six months as well as clocking up thousands of hits on YouTube for his promotional music videos. This release acted as the official prelude to the street album ‘The Re-Turn’, a collection of songs that saw Big Dutty Deeze step up a notch and receive quality on-line reviews from some of the UK’s leading websites & blogs. It was this mixtape that impressed Tricksta so much that he asked him to record an EP for Wolftown Recordings as well as asking Deeze to feature on four tracks on his album ‘Out Of Darkness Cometh Light’.
As plans for the EP were set, Deeze continued his hard work ethic by completing his third mixtape ‘The Re-Birth’ which Deeze now sees as the end of a trilogy. This stepped up a gear again, getting even more lyrical and even more conceptually deep, talking about life issues, relationships and other everyday issues that we can relate to, as well as giving hardcore fans a massive dose of realism with on-point street anthems too. This release was recorded and released on New Year's Day.
Deeze and Tricksta shot a video for the lead single ‘Big Tingz’ from the Tricksta & Deeze EP on Wolftown Recordings, received a lot of support locally and also got supported by various leading websites including RWD Magazine, Rago Magazine, Raw Roots, 100 Per Cent UK and many more. The EP is now released as a digital MP3 and is available from iTunes, EMusic, 7Digital, Amazon and more.
In January 2011 Tricksta decided to use the track ‘Out Of Darkness’ as the jump off to his album and record a video. This meant that Deeze was required to feature in the video alongside London artists Supar Novar and Cyclonious, UK veteran Late and Streetz from Bristol. The video has now had over 25,000 hits on YouTube and came complete with a dubstep remix from Juttla. This helped to once again catapult Deeze onto the UK Rap scene. Towards the end of 2011 Big Dutty would release a mixtape entitled ‘Words From My Diary’, his biggest release to date, which has concreted him in the scene. With over 100,000 views on YouTube, Big Dutty Deeze has arrived.
In the same year Big Dutty Deeze was asked by producer Rediculus to feature on a remix track alongside Hip-Hop veteran Craig G from The Juice Crew, as well as being asked to do a solo track for his album ‘Punchlines & Parables’ which also featured the likes of Sadat X, Ruste Juxx, Nine, Shabaam Sahdeeq, Sha Stimuli and many more. This would be the start of a working relationship that blossomed, and before long Big Dutty Deeze & Rediculus were in talks about an album. That album was recorded towards the end of 2011 and released in the summer of this year.
‘The English Gentleman’, the debut album, has received worldwide acclaim on the underground with collaborations with Duck Down Records artist Ruste Juxx and Chicago spitter Prome. The production on the album by Rediculus has also been praised, and Big Dutty Deeze has been solidified in the independent Hip-Hop scene. Big Dutty Deeze has now arrived, excelling where other artists lack. His reputation for heartfelt realism, honesty and integrity have made him one of the most exciting UK artists releasing music right now. Big Dutty Deeze has shared stages with the likes of Klashnekoff, Iron Braydz, Supar Novar and many more. Expect a string of album releases in 2013 as well as full UK tour. |
